Will tallow or oil-based products make my skin oily?

• The oil-based ingredients are carefully chosen to mimic the natural oils in our skin. Unlike products that are drying, SkinButter's products balance your skin, and do not cause an over-production in oil. We do suggest keeping your hair and clothing away from the skin for a few minutes while it soaks in, and starting with a small amount and adding as needed.

Will these products clog my pores?

• All of the Face Butter and Cleansing Butter's ingredients were carefully chosen to not clog sensitive pores on the face. Though some individuals have used the Body Butter without issue on both face and body, their are some ingredients in this product that could clog pores, so we suggest keeping this product off the face.

What should I do if I get the product on clothes or fabric?

• Not to worry, just use a product with ingredients to breakdown oil such as dish soap. Scrub gently and toss in the wash.

What should I do if my product arrives melted or I leave it in a warm spot and it melts later on?

• This is not an issue and will not affect the quality of the product. If you suspect the package arrived melted, carefully keep the item upwards and place in the fridge or a cool spot in the house. It will solidify quickly. If your Face Butter melts, it will also return to a semi-solid but will no longer have the whipped consistency. This will not affect how the product works on your skin.
• If your product arrives melted and has leaked out past the point of saving, please contact us with a photo.
• Please be aware of the time of year and your location when ordering. To prevent accidental melting, keep a close eye on your tracking information, and be prepared to retrieve it quickly from a sunny doorstep or warm mailbox.

Is this product vegan?

• Any of our products containing tallow or beeswax are not considered vegan, however these are by-products and are the most ethical solution to using the whole animal/bee product. Our squalane is derived ethically from sugarcane, not shark.

Do your products smell like beef?

• We certainly don't think so! Some of our products are lightly fragranced with the natural products scent notes and many people consider it a slightly earthy and grounding smell.

Are there fragrances or essential oils used in any of the products?

• Our promise to you is to never use any essential oils or fragrance ever. 

Why do you not use EOs in your products?

• Many essential oils are photosensitive, meaning they are not safe with direct light-exposure. There are also many common essential oils that are estrogenic in nature or not safe for babies, kids, or sensitive skin. We prefer to use whole plant products or resins to ensure total safety.
